How to distinguish powder coatings
Powder coating is a new type of solvent-free solid powder coating. It has the characteristics of no solvent, no pollution, recyclability, environmental protection, saving energy and resources, reducing labor intensity and high mechanical strength of coating film. However, there are often many inferior powder coatings disrupting the balance of the market. Therefore, we must learn to distinguish between good and bad powder coatings when purchasing.
1. Volume
The larger the volume, the less filler in the powder coating, and the higher the cost. The better the powder quality. The smaller the volume, the higher the filler in the powder coating, and the lower the cost. The worse the powder quality. For the same cardboard box, it is good to see which one has a large volume of powder, and one that has a small volume is poor powder. It is not easy to spray, the secondary powder is more, the waste is large, the spraying area is small, and the use cost is high.
2. Feel
The hand feel is silky smooth, loose and floating. The hand feels rough, heavy, and heavy. Grab a handful of powder in your hand, the smoother and looser the powder is, the better the quality. It is not easy to spray, and the secondary powder is too much, and the waste is large.
3. Storage time
Good powder can be stored for a long time, powder leveling and other effects remain unchanged. Poor powder can not be stored for a long time, poor leveling and other effects become poor after 3 months. The shelf life of normal powder at room temperature is 12 months, and the quality of the product using low-end raw materials is unstable and easy to change. Using poor raw materials to produce powder, the sprayed surface will accelerate pulverization and aging after half a year. In addition, the powder is not easy to store, and the powder is costly to customers, and the quotation is high.
