Epoxy type powder coating is an early developed powder type. Epoxy
powder coating has two types: functional type and decorative type. The base resin of functional epoxy powder is in addition to bisphenol A epoxy resin, and modified epoxy resin such as Novolac epoxy resin, rubber elastomer epoxy resin, etc., are described in more detail in the "Functional Epoxy Powder" later. Decorative epoxy powders are currently not popular, and are generally used for special effects such as water marks (cotton lacquer) and crack powders, bathroom handle cover glossy transparent powders and cast iron surface patterns (such as wrinkles for sewing machine heads), etc.
Powder coating formulations include: resins, emulsions, diluents, additives, auxiliary materials, etc. Each component plays an important role. Resin raw materials are important basic materials for powder coating formulations. In some powder coating products, in order to With the convenience of spray painting construction, some thinners will be added, including kaolin, talc, clay and pottery clay, to reduce the viscosity of powder coatings and facilitate further construction. Most of the thinners on the market are higher than resins. It is also an inexpensive organic solvent, but is also used as a raw material in some powder coatings.
